What it is about
The Customers page is Vector’s customer management view. On the page, you can see all customers saved in the system in a tabular format and manage them centrally. Customers can be both companies and consumers, and comprehensive contact details, billing information, and transaction history are saved for each customer.
Getting started
The Customers page can be found in the left-hand navigation menu under Customers. You can also access the page via the breadcrumb links at the top (Home › Customers).
Creating a new customer:
- Click the New consumer customer button in the top right corner.
- If you want to create a company customer, click the arrow next to the button and select New company customer.
What you can do on this page
Browse and open customers
The customer list shows each customer’s ID number, name, address, and postal area. Clicking the customer’s name takes you directly to the customer’s details.
Customer-specific actions
On the left side of each row, there are two buttons:
- Pen icon — opens the customer edit view.
- Downward arrow — opens the action menu, which includes: Show, Contacts, Orders, Invoices, Point of Sale Sales, Contact Events, Tasks, Order Events, Files, Messages, Tickets, Anonymise, and Delete.
Mass editing
The Edit button above the table allows you to change multiple customers’ details at once, such as customer type, billing method, payment terms, delivery method, customer group, industry, price list, and keywords. You can also limit how many customers the changes apply to.
Import and export customers
- Import... — import customers from an Excel file.
- Export... — export the customer list to an Excel or CSV file.
Filter and search
The Filters button in the top right opens the filtering panel, where you can narrow down the customer list by criteria such as customer number, business ID, name, customer group, customer type, contact status, and bank account. With additional conditions, you can build more precise searches using AND/OR logic and comparison operators like "contains", "starts with", and "is empty".
The search field in the top bar allows quick searching directly among customers.
Edit column visibility and order
From the hamburger menu in the top left of the table, you can select which columns to display. A wide range of fields is available, such as customer type, business ID, phone, email, contact status, and marketing opt-outs. Clicking the column headers lets you sort the list by the chosen column.
You can change the number of rows displayed at the bottom of the page (options: 10, 15, 30, 50, 100, 200, 300).
Tips and notes
- Mass editing is powerful but irreversible — use it carefully and limit the number of customers to be edited before saving if needed. Use filters first to ensure the changes apply only to the desired customers.
- The export function is handy if you want to process customer data in Excel or import it into another system.
- By editing column visibility, you can display exactly the information you need in the table.
