Products

What it is about

The Products page is the centre of Vektor's product management, where you can see all the products stored in the system and manage them centrally. Here you can browse, search, add, edit and delete products as well as import and export product data as files.

Getting started

The Products page can be found in the navigation menu on the left-hand side under Products in the Product Management section.

What you can do on this page

Browse products

Products are displayed in a table, with each product on its own row. The default columns shown are:

ID — the product's sequence number
Product code — the product code in the system
Name — the product name
Product group — the product group to which the product belongs
Tax — the VAT percentage set for the product
Price (excluding VAT) — the product price without VAT
Price (including VAT) — the product price including VAT
Visibility — whether the product is visible, for example in the online store

Below the table, the total number of results and pagination are displayed, allowing you to browse products page by page. You can also select how many products are shown at once.

Edit column visibility

From the hamburger menu in the top left corner of the table, you can select which columns are displayed. Available additional columns include: Active, EAN code, Purchase price, Gross margin, Gross margin %, Sales product, Delivery product, Inventory tracking, Batch tracking, Purchase unit, Stock unit, Inventory unit, Sales unit, Recipe, Cost centre, Stock balance, Reserved quantity, Available quantity, Stock value, Incoming stock, Stock balance alert limit, Gross margin percentage alert limit, Created, Updated and Deleted. Click OK to save your selections.

Filter products

On the right side of the page is a filter panel, where you can limit the displayed products according to the following information:

ID — search by identifier
Name — search by product name
Product code — search by product code
EAN code — search by barcode
Product group — restrict to a specific product group
Visibility — filter by visibility
Show per page — select the number of rows shown at a time
Additional conditions — add more detailed search criteria as needed

Click Filter to apply the filters or Clear to reset your selections.

Product-specific actions

On the left side of each row is an action button, which opens a menu with the following options:

Edit — opens the product editing view
View — opens the product information view
Delete — deletes the product

Create a new product

The + New product button in the top right corner opens a form to create a new product.

Import products

Above the table on the left is the Import button, which opens a dropdown menu with two options:

Import... — import products from a file
Download template — download an import template where you can fill in product details and import them into the system

Export products

Above the table on the left is the Export button, which allows you to export the product list as a file. For exporting, you select:

Price type — Price (including VAT) or Price (excluding VAT)
File type — Excel or CSV

Click Export to start the export.

Bulk actions

In the top right corner is the Bulk actions button, which allows you to perform actions on multiple products at once. First select the desired products in the table, then choose the bulk action you want.

Tips and notes

Column selection should be customised to suit your own use — for example, in warehouse operations, stock balance and alert limits are useful additional columns.
Importing with a template is the most efficient way to add a large number of products at once — first download the template, fill in the details and import the file into the system.
Export is handy, for example, for providing a product list to a customer or updating price information in a spreadsheet application.
Using filters helps you quickly find a specific product or products in a product group even within a large product list.
