Vektori + Viva Cloud – setup
When to use Viva Cloud?
Use the Viva Cloud integration when Vektori POS and the Viva payment terminal operate on different devices.
A typical use case is, for example:
Vektori POS on a tablet or computer → Viva.com's cloud service → separate payment terminal
Payment requests and their responses go through Viva.com's cloud service. The POS device and payment terminal do not need to be on the same local network or Wi-Fi network.
In Vektori’s user interface, the integration is currently named Viva Rest API Cloud.
Before starting
Make sure that:
- Vektori POS Cloud and the Viva.com account are connected according to the common steps in this guide
- the payment terminal is activated on your company's Viva.com account
- the POS device has a working internet connection
- the payment terminal has a working internet connection.
1. Check Viva.com Store
In the cloud integration, the payment terminal is linked in Viva.com to a Store, i.e. the payment source of a physical location.
Log in to Viva.com and open:
Sales > Physical Payments > Stores
First check if there is already a suitable Store for your location.
If a suitable Store already exists, use it.
If there is no Store yet, select Add Store and give it a name describing the location, for example:
Helsinki City Centre
Viva will assign a unique four-digit Source Code to the Store.
Make a note of:
- Store Name
- Source Code
You will need the Source Code later in Vektori’s settings.
Note: Do not create your own Store code for Vektori. The Code field in Vektori must be filled with the Source Code visible for that Store in Viva.com.
Viva’s own guide: How do I set up a physical store/payment source?
2. Link the payment terminal to the correct Store
Next, specify which Store the payment terminal belongs to.
Open in Viva.com:
Sales > Physical Payments > Card Terminals
- Find the payment terminal you use.
- Select Edit next to the terminal.
- Choose the correct Store from the Select source field.
- Save.
If your company has multiple locations or payment terminals, make sure very carefully that the correct payment terminal is linked to the correct Store.

3. Add the Store to Vektori POS Cloud
Log in to Vektori POS Cloud at yritys.vektori.fi.
Open:
Settings > POS > Payment terminal integrations
Go to:
Viva Rest API Cloud
If the shared Viva credentials are set correctly, the status Connected is shown at the top of the integration.
In the Stores section, add the Store you use in Viva.com:
Store name
Give the store a clear name. It is recommended to use the same name as in Viva.com.
For example:
Helsinki City Centre
Code
Enter the four-digit Source Code visible for that Store in Viva.com.
For example:
8290
Select Save.
If your company has multiple Stores, add them in the same way by selecting + Add store.
Vektori uses the Store code to connect to the correct Viva payment source and its associated payment terminals.
4. Select Viva Cloud in Vektori POS
Open in Vektori POS:
Actions > Settings > Payment terminal
Select the payment terminal integration:
Viva Rest API Cloud
Then select:
- the correct store
- the payment terminal belonging to that store
Save the settings.
If the payment terminal does not appear as an option, check:
- that the payment terminal is activated on the correct Viva.com account
- that the payment terminal is online
- that the payment terminal is linked to the correct Store in Viva.com
- that the Source Code entered for the Store in Vektori is correct.
5. Test the payment
Always perform a test payment after setup.
- Add, for example, a €1 test sale to the POS.
- Select card payment as the payment method.
- Check that the correct amount appears on the selected payment terminal.
- Complete the card payment.
- Check that Vektori receives an approved payment response and the sale completes normally.
If the payment request goes to the correct payment terminal and the approved payment is returned to Vektori, the setup is complete.
If the payment terminal does not appear or the payment does not go to the terminal
First check:
- the POS device’s internet connection
- the payment terminal’s internet connection
- that the payment terminal appears as active in Viva.com
- that the payment terminal belongs to the correct Viva.com account
- that the payment terminal is linked to the correct Store
- that the Store code used in Vektori matches the Source Code in Viva.com
- that the correct store and payment terminal are selected in Vektori POS.
If the problem continues, contact Vektori support.
