Vektori + Viva Local – Setup
When is Viva Local used?
Use the Viva Local integration when Vektori POS and the Viva payment terminal operate on different devices but within the same local network.
A typical use case is:
Vektori POS → local network → Viva payment terminal
Vektori sends the payment request directly to the payment terminal’s local IP address. The payment request does not go through Viva’s cloud to the payment terminal as in the Viva Cloud integration.
Viva refers to this integration as Local Terminal API. In the Viva.com Terminal application, the feature is called Viva Peer to Peer.
Before you begin
Ensure that:
- the payment terminal is activated on your company’s Viva.com account
- Vektori POS and the payment terminal are on the same local network
- both devices are connected to the network
- the local network allows traffic between the devices.
Recommendation: It is advisable to assign a static IP address to the payment terminal or configure a DHCP reservation on the router. If the payment terminal’s IP address changes later, Vektori will no longer find the terminal at the old address.
1. Enable Viva Peer to Peer on the payment terminal
Open Viva.com Terminal on the payment terminal.
- Open More > Integrations.
- Select Viva Peer to Peer.
- Enable Enable Peer to Peer.
- Choose the payment terminal’s operating mode.
- Set a PIN code if requested.
- Check the contact details shown under Server information.
Viva.com Terminal displays, among other things:
- Device ID
- Device IP address
- Port
You will need the payment terminal’s IP address and port to configure Vektori.
When Peer to Peer is enabled, Viva.com Terminal switches to ECR mode and waits for payment requests from Vektori POS.

2. Select Viva Local in Vektori POS
Open in Vektori POS:
Actions > Settings > Payment terminal
Select the payment terminal integration as:
Viva Local
Enter the contact details shown in the Viva.com Terminal application into Vektori’s settings.
You need at least:
- the payment terminal’s IP address
- the payment terminal’s port.
Save the settings.
3. Test the payment
Always perform a test payment after setup.
- Add, for example, a €1 test sale to the POS.
- Select card payment as the payment method.
- Check that the correct amount appears on the payment terminal.
- Complete the card payment.
- Verify that Vektori receives an approved payment response and the sale completes normally.
If the payment request reaches the payment terminal and an approved payment is returned to Vektori, the setup is complete.
If the payment does not reach the payment terminal
First check:
- Vektori POS and the payment terminal are on the same local network
- Viva Peer to Peer is enabled on the payment terminal
- the payment terminal’s IP address matches the address set in Vektori
- the port is correct
- the payment terminal’s IP address has not changed
- the local network allows traffic between the POS device and the payment terminal.
If the payment terminal’s IP address has changed, update the new address in Vektori’s payment terminal settings.
If the problem persists, contact Vektori support.
