Activation of the Viva Payment Terminal

Vektori POS can be connected to the Viva.com payment terminal in three different ways. The correct integration depends on whether Vektori POS and the Viva.com Terminal are used on the same device or on separate devices.

The activation is done in three stages:

1. Connect Vektori POS Cloud and Viva.com account
2. Activate the payment terminal for the Viva.com account
3. Select the integration suitable for your usage and follow its specific activation instructions

1. Connect Vektori POS Cloud and Viva.com account

Vektori requires a connection to your company’s Viva.com account in order to use Viva payment terminal integrations.

Retrieve the necessary credentials from Viva.com

1. Log in to your company’s Viva.com account.
2. Open Settings > API Access.
3. Find:
   • Merchant ID
   • POS APIs Client ID
   • POS APIs Client Secret
4. Copy the credentials to a secure location for Vektori configuration.

Note: The Client Secret is confidential. Do not send it unprotected or publish it, for example in screenshots.

Add the credentials to Vektori

1. Log in to Vektori POS Cloud at yritys.vektori.fi.
2. Open Settings > POS > Payment Terminal Integrations.
3. Go to the section Viva App2App.
4. Add:
   • Merchant ID = Viva Merchant ID
   • Client ID = Viva POS APIs Client ID
   • Secret = Viva POS APIs Client Secret
5. Select Save.

Note: Although the credentials are set in Vektori’s current interface under Viva App2App, they are used to establish the connection between Vektori and Viva.com. The actual integration used at the till will be selected later.

Once the credentials are saved, the connection between Vektori POS Cloud and the Viva.com account is configured.

This step is normally done only once per Vektori workspace.

2. Activate the payment terminal for the Viva.com account

The payment terminal or Viva.com Terminal must be activated for your company’s Viva.com account before it can accept payments.

Activation can be done, for example, by:

• logging in to Viva.com Terminal with your company’s Viva.com credentials, or
• using the activation code shown on the payment terminal.

If you use the activation code:

1. Open Viva.com Terminal on the payment terminal.
2. Select activation by device code.
3. Log in to the Viva.com account in a browser.
4. Open Sales > Physical Payments > Card Terminals.
5. Select to add a new payment terminal.
6. Enter the activation code shown on the payment terminal.
7. Complete the activation on the payment terminal.

Once activation is complete, the payment terminal will appear in your company’s Viva.com account.

Activation of the payment terminal and selection of the Vektori integration are separate matters. Activation links the payment terminal to your Viva.com account. In the next step, you select how Vektori POS communicates with the payment terminal.

3. Choose the correct Viva integration

Vektori supports three ways to connect Vektori POS to the Viva.com Terminal.

Which integration should you choose?

Vektori POS runs directly on an Android payment terminal, for example a Ciontek CS50:

→ Choose Viva App-to-App

Vektori POS runs on a tablet, computer, or other separate POS device and a separate Viva payment terminal is used:

→ Usually choose Viva Cloud

You want to connect Vektori POS and a separate payment terminal directly over the same local network:

→ Choose Viva Local

Recommendation: When Vektori POS and the payment terminal are on separate devices, Viva Cloud is generally the preferred option. It is simpler to activate and does not require the POS device and payment terminal to be on the same local network.
