Tasks
What it is about
The Tasks page is Vector's centralised task management view, where you can see and manage all tasks recorded in the system. The page consolidates tasks from all customers and sites, so you do not need to go through each customer card separately. Tasks can be viewed either in card or list view, and can be filtered by person responsible, status, and priority.
Getting started
The Tasks page can be found in the left-hand navigation menu under Tasks. You can also access the page via the breadcrumbs at the top (Home › Tasks).
What you can do on this page
Browse tasks in card view
By default, tasks are shown in card view, where tasks are grouped into four columns by deadline:
- Overdue — tasks whose deadline has already passed
- Today — tasks due today
- Tomorrow — tasks scheduled for tomorrow
- Later — tasks scheduled further in the future
Each task card shows the task title, description, person responsible, deadline, customer, and any related order or ticket reference. The colour icon on the card indicates the task’s priority: red is high, orange is normal, and blue is low.
Browse tasks in list view
You can switch to list view by clicking the list icon in the top right corner. In list view, tasks are displayed in a table showing the title, related site, priority, status, tags, and deadline for each task. List view also includes pagination when there are many tasks.
Filter tasks
There are three filters above the view:
- Person responsible — limits tasks to a specific user. Options include all system users and unassigned
- Status — filters by status: All, Open, New, In Progress or Completed
- Priority — filters by priority: All, Low, Normal or High
You can also search for tasks by title using the search box.
Filter with additional criteria
In list view, the Filters button in the top right corner opens a more detailed filter panel, where you can also filter tasks by deadline, update time, creator, and tags, as well as build more precise searches with additional conditions. Click Filter to apply the filters or Clear to reset your selections.
Create a new task
The + New task button in the top right corner opens the form for creating a new task. A task created from the tasks module is not automatically linked to any customer or site — if you want to create a task for a specific customer, do so from the Tasks tab on the customer’s card, where the link will be created automatically.
Task-specific actions
In card view, clicking a task card opens the task details. In list view, each row has an action button on the left edge, which opens a menu: Complete, View, Edit, and Delete.
Tips and notes
- Card view provides a quick overview of the status of work — overdue tasks stand out clearly in their own column and are easy to respond to.
- Person responsible filter is useful, for example, in the mornings when you want to see only your own tasks for planning the day.
- List view is better suited for situations with many tasks when you want to sort or browse them in a table format.
- Keep task status up to date — tasks marked as completed no longer appear in the active view, so the list stays tidy when statuses are updated regularly.
