What it is about
With the New Task form, you can create a task directly from the Tasks module. In this case, the task is not automatically linked to any item. If you want to create a task for a specific customer, order, or project, do so directly from the page of that item — then the link is created automatically.
Getting started
- Go to Tasks in the left-hand menu.
- Click the + New Task button in the top right corner.
Fill in the task details
Fill in the following details on the form:
- Title — the name of the task (mandatory)
- Description — a free-form description of the task content. The description field includes a text editor, allowing you to format the text with bold, italics, headings, lists, and links
- Priority — the task’s priority: Low, Normal, or High. Default is Normal
- Status — the progress status of the task: New, In Progress, or Completed. Default is New
- User — the person to whom the task is assigned, selected from a dropdown menu
- Deadline — when the task should be completed. The date can be typed into the field or selected from the calendar. Quick selection buttons +1 day, +7 days, +14 days, and +30 days move the deadline forward from the current day
- Keywords — keywords attached to the task for search and classification purposes
Save the task by clicking the Save button at the bottom of the form or in the top right corner.
Tips and notes
- Keep the title clear and descriptive — it is the first piece of information visible in the task list, so a good title immediately conveys what the task is about.
- Setting a deadline is important so that the task is placed correctly in the column view and overdue tasks stand out in time.
- The User field should always be filled in when the task has a clear person responsible — this way the task appears in the right person’s own tasks and does not remain hanging without an owner.
- The Priority selection helps to prioritise tasks when several issues are open at the same time.
