What it is about
The Timeline tab shows the entire event history of an individual customer in chronological order, from newest to oldest. It brings together all events related to the customer — orders, invoices, tasks, contact events, and other records — on one page. The Timeline is especially useful when you want to quickly see what has happened with the customer recently.
Getting started
- Open the customer's profile by clicking the customer's name in the customer list.
- Click the Timeline tab at the top of the customer profile.
- Events appear as a list from newest to oldest, grouped by date.
What you can do on this page
Browse the event history
Events are grouped by date with blue date bars. Each event shows:
- Author — which user performed the action
- Event type — e.g. Order created, Invoice sent, Contact event, Task created
- Time — when the event was recorded
- Additional details — for example, invoice due date and amount, or contact event comment and contact person
Open the event target
On the right-hand side of each event is a link icon and reference number (e.g. #133 or #1035). Clicking this takes you directly to the relevant order, invoice, or other item.
Filter events
The Filter button in the top right corner opens the filter menu, where you can select which event types to display. The filter categories are:
- Customer management — events related to customer information
- Cash register — cash sales and cash register events
- Commenting — internal comments and notes
- Invoicing — sending invoices and invoicing events
- Communication — messages sent to the customer
- Task management — created and updated tasks
- Tickets — events related to support requests
By default, all categories are selected. Deselect a category to hide its events.
Tips and notes
- The Timeline is the quickest way to get an overall picture of the customer relationship status before a meeting or call — you don’t need to review orders, invoices, and tasks separately.
- Using the filter is recommended if the customer has many events and you are looking for a specific event type. For example, showing only invoicing is possible by deselecting the other categories.
- Links from events take you directly to the item, so you can quickly access, for example, a specific invoice without a separate search.
